About the project
Swansea Bay Deprived Areas Fund was a £2.7 million programme funded by the Department of Work and Pensions and the Welsh Assembly Government and developed by the Swansea Bay Spatial Plan Economic Inactivity Subgroup (DAF Partnership). The project was managed by Swansea Council for Voluntary Service (SCVS) and Carmarthenshire County Council. The purpose of the project was to tackle worklessness in the deprived areas of Carmarthenshire, Neath Port Talbot and Swansea.
Activities carried out
Working in partnership with Old Bell 3 Ltd we evaluated the DAF programme. We carried out a range of one to one interviews with project managers, as well as a series of focus groups with beneficiaries of the chosen case study projects in the Neath Port Talbot and Swansea delivery areas.
Results of our work
Our report outlined a number of key issues and provided a range of recommendations and was well received by the clients.
