The idea
Swansea Festival of Music and the Arts is a long-established institution in the Swansea area. The organisation wanted to bid for Arts Council of Wales funding for the Dylan Thomas Centenary year to support a special, augmented programme of activities. The Festival required support in developing a business plan and funding bid to secure a substantially increased budget.
What we did
We worked with the Festival Chair and key individuals to develop a business plan and funding case for the initiative, pulling together a range of ideas and desires and presenting them in a coherent, structured package for the purposes of a funding bid.
Impact of our work
Our work was very well received and as a result of our support the Festival was successful in securing a £50,000 grant from the Arts Council of Wales for their DT100 celebrations, which took place in the 2014 Dylan Thomas Centenary Year. Post 2014, the Festival has implemented the operational structure that the business plan recommended and continues as an annual fixture.
