Yesterday evening saw our very first Port Talbot Market. After months of planning, it was pleasing to see it receive so much support from traders, local businesses and shoppers.
It took place between 4pm – 8pm at the Transport Hub on Station Road and aimed to bring vibrancy to the area and offer the community a selection of fresh produce, street food and crafts. The market attracted a huge crowd and many traders sold out of their products before the market ended.
Port Talbot Market is the latest street market to join our other successful markets in Uplands, Marina, Mumbles and Pontardawe. The aim of the markets project is to use pop-up events to demonstrate the qualities of public space – to boost footfall and dwell time. The markets project has also become a sustainable social enterprise in its own right, creating a full time job for a graduate.

The next Port Talbot Market will take place on Thursday 29thAugust, 4pm – 8pm (the last Thursday of every month).
