HRH Prince Charles visited Swansea on 3 July 1969 to deliver the proclamation that Swansea was to become a city – this was made official on 10 December 1969.
City & County of Swansea are holding Swansea-wide celebrations and activities to celebrate the 50 year anniversary of this. One of the events being planned is a Summer Street Party on June 27th at St Helen’s Road, and Urban Foundry has been helping the team at Swansea Council to arrange the stalls (via our Uplands Market project).
It promises to be a spectacular event with live music, performance, street food, art, poetry, drumming, pop-up skate park, pop-up museum, talks, tai chi, heritage and henna tattoos.
In addition to our monthly Uplands, Marina and Mumbles street markets we also run pop-up markets for organisations such as City & County of Swansea, City Centre Management and Swansea University. If you are interested in us helping you with your own event, do contact us ideas@urbanfoundry.co.uk
